What Do Teachers Make? |
Teachers make kids work harder than they ever thought they could. |
Teachers can make a C+ feel like a Congressional Medal of Honor and an A- feel like a slap in the face if the student did not do his or her very best. |
Teachers can make kids sit through 40 minutes of study hall in absolute silence. |
Teacher can make parents tremble in fear when they call home. |
Do you want to know what teachers make? They make kids wonder. They make them question. They make them criticize. They make them apologize and mean it. |
| |
Teachers make students write. They make them read, read, read. |
| |
They make students spell definitely beautiful, definitely beautiful, and definitely beautiful over and over and over again, until they will never misspell either one of those words again. |
| |
Teachers make students show all their work in math and hide it all on their final drafts in English. |
| |
Teachers make students understand that if you have the brains, then follow your heart... and if someone ever tries to judge you by what you make in dollars and cents, you pay them no attention. |

Teachers of Tomorrow
Teachers of Tomorrow (TOT) is a program held on the WCU campus for middle and high school students who are interested in exploring teaching as a career. Regional high school students attend the Teachers of Tomorrow Program each October on the campus of WCU; regional middle school students attend the on-campus program each February. Professional educators and speakers lead breakout sessions presenting information on topics related to college access, scholarships and financial aid, teaching in a diverse world, admissions processes, WCU campus tours, and how to choose a college or university.
